11 security personnel killed, 39 injured in suicide attack in Swat

As many as eleven security personnel were killed and 39 others injured on Sunday when two suicide bombers and an improvised explosive devise simultaneously struck a military convoy passing through Matta in Swat. 28 of the injured were critical and admitted to hospitals in Peshawar, Mardan and Rawalpindi. The suicide bombers carried out the attack in two blue Suzuki vans. Three civilians were also killed in the terrorist attack. Six houses were also damaged in the attack which was followed by a gunbattle. The DG ISPR said the helicopters were hovering over the area and the convoy was on its way.The incident occurred at Sambat chowk near Matta when two suicide bombers rammed their explosive laden car in military convoy. As a result of the blast several shops and few houses were also destroyed.The injured, the official said they are around 35 who are rushed to Civil Hospital Matta and Saidu sharif hospitals where emergency has been declared.
